Santa Fe  Travel - Planes, Trains and Cars

Arriving by Air

Sant Fe has a regional airport (SAF) which is served by United and American diectly from Denver (DEN) , Phoenix (PHX) and  Dallas/ Fort Worth (DFW). There are also other airlines that fly into SAF.

Car rental selection is somewhat limited in SAF.

Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ) is the gateway to New Mexico.

We flew into Albuquerque and rented a car it is an easy 60 mile drive north on US 25. You can also fly into Denver and rent a car... but that is a long long drive south.

You can get to Albuquerque from almost anyplace with just one stop. Car rental selection is not an issue here.

Best online resource:  ABQ Sunport (https://www.abqsunport.com)

For those folks that love a trian ride there is the New Mexico Rail Runner Express from Albuquerque Station To Santa Fe Rail Yard. and...All active duty military, veterans and anyone with a federally issued veteran or military photo ID can ride the New Mexico Rail Runner Express and Rio Metro buses for free. Hmmmm... I like a trian ride.

Albuquerque, New Mexico - Rental Cars

Either ABQ or SAF pick your airport and your prefered rental car company. Pick up your car and drive to Sant Fe.

I have used many but are most pleased with Hertz.
