Albuquerque Sunport (ABQ) is the gateway to New Mexico. We flew into Albuquerque and rented a car it is an easy 60 mile drive north on US 25. You can also fly into Denver and rent a car... but that is a long long drive south. You can get to Albuquerque from almost anyplace with just one stop. Car rental selection is not an issue here.
