Santa Fe  Dining

When you arrive in New Mexico and especially Santa Fe you will see locally grown sleves of bright red "hatch" chiles hanging everywhere. There is even a New Mexico license plate with a chile on it much like the orange featured on Florida license plats but the chile in New Mexico is much more prominent.

Santa Fe's cuuisin's foundation is the chile... when you sit down fofor your first local lunch or dinner you will be introduce to the red or green sauced chile variation. It's the signiture feature of Santa Fe's food seen appart from generally excellent dinning offerings from around the world. For me it is a big part of what is so enjoyable about being there. I stick with the milder chilies which couldbe red or green. One of the popular local restaurants that embodies Santa Fe style cuisien is Tomasita's in the Railyard. Their will be at least one returning visit there.

Tomasita's

This very popuar local restaurant offers New Mexican style offerings. It is a busy but fun place for dinning and drinks. Located in the old station building in the Historic Railyard it has a different casual vibe different from Old Town. The fried bread with honey is delicious. It looks small but it seats quite a large number of guests inside as well as outside on the patio. The focus is the food not the views!

 $20 - $35 range

The Ranch House

Loacated south of Old Town on Cristo's Road it is a short drive for this relaxed Southwestern Style BBQ bar and grill. They got the meats!    $25 - $35 range

Cafe Pasqual's

Sometimes it just the spot and the food and not the size of a place. Cafe Pasqual's is small and it is wise to make reservations for dinner. It is located near the plaza and has a festive but cramped atmosphere. Good for two or four people not more. The food is great ut pricey. $25 - $50+

Below are other fine resaurants to consider near the Plaza as well as outside. Choose your favorite online source (Google) and enjoy.
