55th Reunion Information

Dear MHS Classmates of 1963,

We are looking forward to our 55th reunion this fall on the weekend of October 5th 6th and 7th on Long Island. A group of classmates has planned activities for the weekend that will give us an opportunity to share time together while enjoying some unique places of interest in our old neighborhood.

Friday October 5th:

11:00 AM: Meet and greet at The Old Westbury Diner, just off Northern State Parkway on the west side of Glen Cove Road north of Jericho Tpk.

12:30 PM: Leave for Old Westbury Gardens and our 1:00 tour. The tour is $9.00 per person, and checks may be sent to Karen Malvese, 211 Brixton Rd. Garden City New York 11530-1339. After the tour: Hang out, visit and enjoy the gardens.

6:00 PM: Dinner at Rothmans Steak House, next door to the East Norwich Inn. Weather Permitting, there will be a cocktail hour on the terrace at the inn before dinner.

Saturday October 6th:

10:00 AM: Tour of Teddy Roosevelts Summer White House at Sagamore Hill, Oyster Bay. (The tour is $10.00 per person. You may send a check to Ginny Bushart, 16 Bailey Hollow Rd. Stony Brook, NY 11790, or pay on that day.)

11:15 - 12:15: Stroll the grounds at Sagamore Hill and visit the Roosevelt Museum at The Old Orchard on the grounds.

12:30: Lunch at Canterbury’s in Oyster Bay (3 miles from Sagamore Hill)

After Lunch: Free time to stroll the shore village of Oyster Bay.

4:00-6:30 – Cocktails and hor’douevers at Karen and Paul’s.

7:00-11:00 PM: MHS annual alumni reunion at The Irish American Society, (appetizers, open bar, dessert) or dinner with our class at a local restaurant after Karen and Paul’s party.)

Sunday: 11:00: Brunch at Leo’s, Garden City

Important: At this point we need to know who will be attending each event so we can confirm the numbers. Please confirm your plans via email.
