2025 Mineola High School Athletic Hall Of Fame Inductions

Ralph Sammis, a 1963 Grad and excellent Multi Sport athlete. Ralph’s extraordinary feat was becoming a 1963 New York State wrestling Champion at 130 lbs. The first ever year the New York State wrestling Championships were held. Almost Half the schools in Nassau County still do not have a single state Champ. There was only one state champion at that time, which means Ralph ( Jim Howell (track)and Hugh Gallagher (Basketball) also) was THE best individuals in their sport out of approximately 500 High schools, not including private, parochial and NYC schools.
