Some background... Only a few years ago there were but four of us that found each other here in the Sunshine State. We made plans and we got together. That was 2004 when we had our first mini reunion at Pam Proctor's home in Vero Beach. It was great. It signaled the beginning. This weekend we welcomed 21 Mineola High School grads from '60, '62, '63 and their spouses and... with some luck it would have been even more. Many of us know each other well from attending previous reunions most recently in San Antonio, TX at "The Big Mustang Roundup" in October, 2007.

Kathy Madden and Karen Malvese organized a full day of activities on Friday for those that arrived early. At mid morning eight golfers paired off in two foursomes for eighteen holes at the Palm Beach Gardens Municiple Golf Course. Later that evening the golfers and other arrivals dined at "Off The Vine".

Saturday we toured Palm Beach visiting Whitehall, Henry Flager's Home, The Breakers Hotel as well as the famous shopping street, Worth Avenue. At the same time our hosts, Jim and Joyce Hancock, began preparations at Joyce's Mom,(and now Honorary Class Sweetheart) Mrs. Gisela Susskind's gorgeous home for our Florida Mini Reunion. The Hancocks entertained from cocktails through dinner. We felt so welcome and special and from all of us that attended we offer a huge THANK YOU. We all had a marvelous time together... again.

On Sunday those of us that had stayed overnight at the Hampton Inn were joined by Jim and Joyce Hancock for our farewell breakfast. Maureen, Steve, Jeanine, Gene and Kathy went to visit Jim and Joyce's condo on the Intracoastal Waterway after breakfast on Sunday. What a beautiful view from their balcony. Then we all parted and went our separate ways.

We were very excited to see Steve and Jeanine Nephew. Steve has made a fantastic recovery from surgery for cancer of the esophagus. Steve thanked the class for all the support during his recovery.

We were also heartened to see Grace (Mille) and Chuck Logue as we wanted to offer our sincere best wishes, prayers and support to Grace as she begins her treatment for recently diagnosis cancer. Please send Grace your message of support. Her contact information can be found at the link below. Thank you in advance. It will be very appreciated and it makes a difference.

It is not easy to say goodbye at the end of our reunions, But, there will be another one in October, 2008... our Forty Fifth, back in Mineola and most of us are planning to travel north to attend it. Then there is next year here in Florida... The date and place will be annouced.
