McMinnville and the Wine Country - One Day

Easy to get to from either Portland or the Coast, McMinnville is well worth a day's visit.

The Wine Country

Stretching between the Cascades to the East and the Coastal Range to the west, stretching the entire length of the state. McMinnville is home for the Willamette Valley Wine Region. Oregon's Wine Country enjoys long hours of summer sunshine and occassional Pacific Ocean breerzes. The Coastal Range to the west shelter the region with moderate temperatures which offer gradual ripening of the grapes. The combination of conditions helps create the complex fruit flavors, and aroma. Oregon-grown wines compete with other world-class wineries. Wineries are generally are small. And wine tasting can be enjoyed at many of the wineries that you will pass or in shops in McMinnville.
